You will always be a therian. There will always be people who hate you for that. Sadly therians are very hated these days. But you can't let this stop you from being yourself, even though it may make you upset, you can take a break from quads or therian activities but remember you will always be one. And that's amazing
. You will always be you, you can't spend your whole life (well, this life) being someone you are not. Why not make life fun?
Look. People will hate you. People won't understand you. People will look at you weird.
But you're not doing this for anyone, you are expressing yourself for YOU. So that you can be happy. Some kids from school know? Okay well some people may not like you because of that but you are yourself. You are free, do not change yourself for them. Plus, IF your classmates already know, what's the point of trying to hide it?
I know what it feels like to hide yourself from everyone. I also know what it's like to be yourself despite everyone, and it's way better.
I was in denial about being a therian for years. Now I accepted it and I'm much happier. So just keep on doing what makes you happy, despite people finding it weird. Be yourself, no matter what
. If you hide it, it doesn't mean it will go away. It will stay and it will be much worse suppressing it.
Now, you seem to feel anxious because of this, listen, it's okay. Don't push those feelings away or try to stop them, instead just let yourself feel the anxiety. It goes away faster that way. You said you feel trapped, I want you to think about that. Why do you feel that way? I know it may seem obvious, but whenever I have problems related to my therian identity, I stop for a moment and think why exactly do I feel this way? Give myself a moment to process, then acknowledge it, say affirmations in my head and move on. The feelings may not go away right away but ever since I've been doing that I feel a lot better and more confident.
Therianthrophy did not ruin your life. It's just a rough patch, trust me, you will get through it. Think about it, you said it's doing damage, but the way I see it, it's not.
Some kids know you're a therian? Cool! They know you're confident enough to be yourself.
Your parents resent you being a therian? That's okay, they just don't understand.
Someone will see you outside? Who cares, you're just having fun.
You understand your therian identity, and that's enough. My advice for this, and life in general, is to challenge the negative thoughts and sit with the negative emotions. I practice this every time something happens and it has helped me so much mentally.
You're a therian. That's awesome! You can't change it, so embrace it. You already made a huge step by accepting it and expressing yourself with gear! You have a whole community that accepts you. You're not alone in this.
Good luck on your journey!
