[Should this be posted here, in Questions, or over in Advice? I wasn't exactly sure.]
To start with, I agree with most of the people that have posted here- there are way too many confused therians/and or posers that think they're foxes or wolves. Unfortunately, I'm kinda new to the whole concept, and sometimes I wonder if I really am a confused person. There are only three animals I'm sure I'm extremely close to; the fox, the canine, and the dragon. My personality and actions closely relate to the fox, yet my obsession and... sometimes my actions relate to the dragon. When I was younger, I was strangely in love with both the dog and dragon. I even made up a creature I called a 'dragodog' when I was about three. I always pretended I was one, and was being forced to live as a human because of some mistake I had made. [Not necessarily in a past life. I didn't really believe in reincarnation. I was only three.] I was a hopeless fool for dragons and dogs, but never once did I think of foxes. Not until I found therianism, anyway. What's also weird is I get a crazy sensation whenever I meditate on dragons. I always feel as if I have wings, and a longer neck than I actually have. When I became a teenager, I pretty much stopped believing in dragons actually existing. Recently, after finding paganism, I realized that they are real, just that they live on another Astral Plane, perhaps in another universe. Actually having the dragon as my theriotype... I'm not too thrilled about. ]= This is mostly because I feel very uncomfortable with the concept of claiming my soul once belonged to an elemental being... But, the more I meditate on it, the more I feel torn. Fox? Dragon? Both are very common, and it angers my rebellious side, but I can't help it... After having a recent dream I've found that the so called wolves in my dream were actually just large canines. Maybe the dog is my spirit guide? Not the bird. Just because one likes an animal, doesn't mean its ones' spirit guide, or theriotype, and I've already realized this. I'm curious to see what you all have to say on this. Reply, please? And if there are any fox or dragon therians, could you talk over it with me? Maybe share some of your own feelings? Thank you all very much.

Update: (I know I said I'd wait, Atraq, but I think I might as well post it while I can still remember everything I wanted to cover in it. D= I have memory loss issues, haha. ) So today, there was an interesting turn of events; I have found my Spirit Guide. While meditating this morning, I finally got my answers. (Warning; Long story. If you have read my post under 'Dreams' then you know that in the dream, I was a human boy, who had loved a girl which I called 'Melody.' I've gotten many replies, on different sites, reminding me that dreams are only thoughts jumbled together; It's the subconscious thinking while the body is asleep. I know this, and the only reason I posted that dream was because of the strange vibe I got from it. After mulling it over, I found that the characters in the dream; Melody, the White wolf, and Black wolf, radiated the same energy. This is sort of a figure of speech. What I mean is, they all seem similar in the way their personality was, and how I viewed them in my dreams. About a year ago, I had a strange dream (Yes, I still remember it. Don't ask me why, because I don't know. this is the only dream besides the last one that I have remembered.) In it, I was a golden dragon. I lived in a valley of other dragons, which I can remember with vivid detail. I had a mate named Sofee (Pronounced slightly similar to 'Sophie' in English, but with a strange accent.), whom I had known since childhood. I remember, that in the little Clan, the other dragons fell sick, except for myself and Sofee. We were strangely immune to the weird disease spreading around. We were sent on a 'quest' by the Elder, to travel to a place where another Elder dragon resided. I'm not sure where that was. In my dream, it didn't matter, though. (You know how dreams are. -rolls eyes- ) Anyway, Sofee and I made our way out of the valley, and across the lands. We hunted, flew, walked, and all that. A few incidents did occur. Once I was confronted by a pack of angry wolves, and another time there was a small human boy who could see me. After a long chain of events, we finally reached a place that resembled my house. I was flying over the house, and this was where the dream got weird. There was... an angry man in my back yard, and he was yelling something at me that I couldn't understand. Then, I was sucked against my will, towards the house that I live in now. I remember trying to get away, and Sofee panicking. I'm pretty sure I woke up after that. I don't really recall. =/ The point of my saying this, is when I was meditating, I thought back over the dream. I threw the images around in my head, so to speak. Sofee, my female mate, I then realized reminded me of Melody, and the two wolves. I started to think; 'Well let's say this all is true, and 'Sofee' if my spirit guide. I don't believe that a soul is female or male, just that it's energy.' So I started trying to come up with names similar to Sofee, except more masculine. I few random names and sounds popped into my head, before one clicked. It was the name 'Seltyae' that did me in. I do not know if this is an actual name or not, but the moment I thought it, something strange happened. I felt my 'Third Eye.' The third eye, or so I've read, is a place in the middle of your head where energy streams out. I don't know what else it is, but a tingly spot in my head came suddenly apparant. My whole skull seemed to tense up, and I wasn't causing it. I kept repeating the name, trying to hold on to it. It worked, for a long time. It was as if my... brain was trying to remember something that wasn't there. Or something or someone was interfering with my head. I don't really know... it was nerve-racking. It didn't hurt, but it sure excited me. I had this surge, and I knew that whatever this spirit or entity was called, I knew him/her. I even felt a presence, and I knew it meant something. I googled 'spirit guides' the other day, and I found that spirit guides are mostly beings that have lived, but chose not to reincarnate or anything, and instead to help out someone who had decided to live. So maybe there's a chance I knew Seltyae, in a past life? All this is crazy, but I had to share it with everyone here. I trust in your opinions, and advice. I also trust you won't call me insane. With all this said, do you think there is a possibility I lived as a dragon? If so, what about the fox?

That was one long paragraph to read, you could do with splitting the next post down a little bit just so it's easier for the reader. Lol. You went into quite a lot of detail there, i'm glad you have done this because when you come to Therian Wilderness in a few years time and read it again, it wouldn't have changed. On to your dream now. First of all the name seltyae, we all have to remember (including myself!) that if we were a creature in our past life that wasn't able of human speach, how could we have been named to start with? I don't think (just to bring an example) that what I was before, even though it was a race and a culture in itself that we were able to talk and pronounce words. We had no lips, just like wolves and cats don't. I only came to realise this not long ago but my human needs now demands for me to at least have a name for what I was, so I shouldn't be losing Kharu any time soon. If you have mixed feelings about what you once were, remember there can be shapeshifters and more than just one past life of course you might have mixed memories from. However, if I were you, I would simply blame the lack of understanding in your current life. I'm not saying you are unable to understand, no, it is just that frustratingly enough, these things tend to become clearer over time and not much we can do will hurry the process. If you remember and keep hold of what you learn over the years in say, four years time you will have a much stronger opinion about what you were. I noted your age, you are very young my friend.

Thanks for your reply, Kharu. ^^;
I get what you mean about both things. I know that if I were another creature, I would not have a name. Names are completely human. It's just that, in Paganism, a lot of witches and shamans give themselves spiritual names that, when used, are referring to their true, soul self. And I thought I'd try to give this 'spirit guide' a solid thing to call it. Seltyae just seemed to fit.
You're right. I'm sorry if I sounded like I was trying to rush everything out, because, deep down, I know that it will take a long time until I get everything straightened out. Kharu, what was your race like specifically? I feel like if I heard more about... otherworldly creatures, it might spark something. Or, at the most, it'd be very interesting.
Haha, yeah, I'm pretty young. ^^; Like I said in my intro, I have a pretty high IQ, and I'm a lot more intelligent than others of my age. I hid it, just in case someone on the site would judge me on how old I was. Mind you, if I were lying, I would have put a false age. Which, I did not. Lying is probably the worst thing someone could do to me, so I try not to do it myself.

Lying is probably the worst thing someone could do to me, so I try not to do it myself. Well now. Lying to someone in many cases will only mean that you are lying to yourself, although I had no doubt that you were honest from the start, of course. My race? I will try to tell you without taking too much of your time. First of all we looked very much like some drawings you get that will most likely fall under the anthromorph category. I haven't been able to find a perfect picture that represented the same physical properties of our bodies, however I did find some close ones. My icon is one of them, but an even closer one will be this picture. The face is almost just right, the body follows closely although i'm not sure about the feet and chest. I wasn't female but that gives you a good idea. Our culture on the other hand, that is what i've been trying to rebuild in my head over the past few years. We had houses, villages, had discovered electicity and had very good mechanical skills. We didn't live in forests, although most of the land around us was. Our air was clean and much denser than earths. That made flight a lot easier, and we did take the advantage. On top of that I know a little about myself, my other half, a few unique musical instruments powered by air some of which are similar to earths ones, while some are completely different. I can get into the detail on some of the things I remember, especially the sky ship I used to work on, but I will leave the boring and overly personal detail behind unless you want to know more about it. So yeah, there you go. I don't need to know you to trust that your reaction to what I just told you won't be an unpleasant one. Joining this place was all the trust I needed from you. Hope what I said inspire you at least in some way? I don't know.

@kharu: Actually, you kinda did. xD But it had nothing to do with what you said. I just realized something; you know that valley I dreamed of? Well, I remember something else. There was this cave, and, in my mind, I can see the stalactites, and everything. It overlooked the valley outside, and it was fairly deep. You know how whenever you read a book, you always tend to picture the scene in a place that you know? Like if the main character is in his/her room, it'd always be in your room? Because you're in a sort of trance? I read this book about dragons once, and this girl was imprisoned in a cave. There were more books similar to that one, but I always pictured them being in the same cave. It's also fair to guess that I've lived another human life, most likely as a male. Hence, my memory of a room that I've never seen, and of a library I've never been to. I always get this urge that I'm not supposed to be female, for some reason. But I am. I feel like I know both genders, and sometimes I miss being a guy. -shrugs- It's weird.
That's interesting. I'd be crazy NOT to want to hear about what sky ship you worked on, in another planet, and past life. XD Seriously, Kharu. I'd like you to tell me, if you want to. ^^ But if it's too much to write, and you don't have time, never mind. I don't wanna be a burden.
This planet seems so *tiny* now...

I will tell you as much as i know Hikaru and Artaq too, I have plenty of time on my hand.
While I don't know the name of the skyship, if it even had one, I did spend a while putting it on paper so everyone can see. (picture is in the "other art" section on this forum). This is how i remember it looking like (as close as it gets). It was powered by electricity from wind generators and battery banks, made from a metal/wood frame inside an exterior wooden shell (some of them were armored). It was kept up in the sky by something we don't quite have over here, I call it mercury vapour although that is just a name I gave it. This gas was much lighter than air and it didn't take too long to find it since it was produced by a unique rough tree. I believe the reason the trees produced this natural gas was to help their rate of growth over time by storing it in their hollow trunks and therefore they experienced a constant "light stretch" upwards. The gas could easily be seen during the day as it distorted the air and had a light red hue. The ship had a big on board farm on the very top that provided it with the extra gas it needed since they all used to leak a little bit over time. The ship could tilt up or down by adjusting the pressure inside two inner rings, removing the need for massive tale planes at the back.
Had enough of reading yet? Still loads more to write.
Propulsion was achieved via six massive sound engines, or at least that's is what I now call them. The reason is because they emitted a very loud low grumble when working, the shields on top of these engines acted as sonic walls so that the sound got emmited away from the upper levels. The exact working properties of the engines i'm still not sure about, or what sort of fuel the used. To give you an idea of the size of the sky ship in my drawing, each engine had a cylindrical diameter of roughly 10-12 meters.
Just like an earthly ship would have the captains tower bit were the whole ship is operated from, our ones had the same layout. Since this skyship was used to transport important figures, it was made so that the top compartments could only be accessed via a north and a south corridor system. These coridors had a hidden cruel secret. Apart from being guarded and had big thick doors that were closed at all times, they had an single opening mid way along on the ceiling. If the guards didn't deacivate the trap, upon stepping inside a huge cylinder which rotated and was covered in long metal shards of metal dropped down from the opening and was guided along wall tracks too follow a zigzag pattern across the whole corridor. This obviously left nothing alive inside, a weekly check was performed and both north and south cylinders ran to make sure they worked if needed.
I have many more images in my head of many different parts of the ship, sounds it made and activity. I'm not sure how to describe these however.

I want to jump in and say that names aren't just a human thing, it may be that animals don't have names for each other. But you cannot believe that about any other advanced beings.
If you have a self awareness and complex intelligence, and you can communicate with these, via writing, language, or sign, you NEED names for those objects and individuals you are referring to. Imagine having a conversation without them.
Imagine if you are an Anthropomorphic being that has an animal head and can't speak, but can use 'sign language' or 'mental projection' to voice their words, feelings. How would you refer to other individuals like yourself without them having something to be called?
Like 'Green Eye' or 'The Dark One' or 'Bob-tail' in whatever language you have. They may not be human names, but names are about reference, and simplicity.
It would take you ages to have a conversation if you had to describe the thing/person you were talking about. "the female one - younger than me - with the white fur - and brown eyes - who works in the fabric trade."

@kharu; That was... complicated. xD But it fascinates me that you could go into such detail about it. I hope I will be able to do the same, some day... Thank you, very much.
@re; Hmm, good point. ^^; I wasn't really thinking about Anthropomorphics. How should we know what all is out there? There could be beings that talk, and use names as well. Thanks for pointing that out.
