Hello everyone! Any suggestions that you may have please feel free to share! (And if this is in the wrong thread, please let me know!)
Anyway, I'm in need of some new meditations. I always do the same thing, and it's not like there's anything wrong with that, but I'd like to try something new. I usually just sit quietly and breathe deeply, letting the meditation music I play take over. It's really just your basic meditation. So if you guys have any practices that you'd like to share, please do! ;D

Im suprised no one has posted here yet. Seiza ~ You might like to try one technique Jamie one of the mods of this forum taught me wich I will be trying tonight. Its a technique called rooting and I'm not sure if your familiar with it at all. Basicaly you sit or stan on a hard surface in a place you feel comfortable and are less likely to be distracted. Close your eyes and clear your mind. Focus on your breathing keeping it steady. Once you have done so feel the enegry through your body pushing through your feet creating roots digging into the earth as if you were a large tree. Feel and focus on your roots digging deeper into the soil planting your bodt still. You should feel very calm and relaxed by now. You may take it from their with your own meditational styles. This idea is all thanks to Jamie

@solaria I teach my own meditation technique but I don't like to publicize it because I like to make sure that people understand each step and don't go ahead without doing each step to the fullest. If you'd like to know about my technique and maybe learn it feel free to PM or instant message me. Best of luck. @halo Rooting is a preparation technique to meditation, it's not its own technique. Rooting is only step 1 of what I teach, there are about 5 or so total and growing as I learn new things myself. I'd sort of appreciate it if you didn't go around telling folks what I teach since I keep it private for the reason I said above. I suppose I don't mind you explaining rooting as I would mind you explaining other steps.

I meditate in the bathtub or touching water. I don't really know how to describe it other tn that, but it does involve water. I can't meditate without water. I just kind of sit down in the water or I just let my feet dangle in it and then I relax and just let myself go, feeling the movement of the water and my mind will go happily blank and I guess that's about it.

@ Jamie I will definitely be PMing you here in the near future, especially since I actually have time to do such things now! @ Hanael I'll be sure to try my usual meditations in the water next time. I feel a connection with water myself, so I'm sure that'll positively affect my energy. Thank you!

I find meditating in the shower or near a loud source of constant flowing water (i.e one of my fish tanks) to be very soothing and relaxing. From there I let my mind wander to other sounds in my surrounding area and try to put them into context.
Its quite stimulating but I wouldn't try it if you live in a busy area - can get too overwhelming especially if a truck goes blaring past.
