@kai I got the meaning as younger people arn't as crazy as people think. In fact, they're an important part to society. Could be wrong, though. I can't really think. -Rail

@rail: Ah, I took what he said literally. That young people were likely to be more together about themselves than the older generation.

“Other than the voices in my head, I think I’m pretty normal.” by Tom Upton
From the Wilderness by Carl Sandburg: “There is a wolf in me… […] I keep this wolf because the wilderness gave it to me and the wilderness will not let it go. […] O, I got a zoo, […]: it came from God-Knows-Where: it is going to God-Knows-Where—For I am the keeper of the zoo: I say yes and no: I sing and kill and work: I am a pal of the world: I came from the wilderness.”

@barbatos and Rail - I like them as well. We've heard of those and other quotes like them toss around in the multiple communities before.
Another fun one - “Many people hear voices when no-one is there. Some of them are called mad and are shut up on rooms where they stare at the walls all day. Others are called writers and they do pretty much the same thing.”

@ Mist
That is too true, being a writer myself. XD I do interview my characters before using them. I works a lot better than people says it does, I don't care if people think that's weird. I even learned to do that from David Gerrold, the guy who wrote the Star Trek episode "Trouble with Tribbles".

All we have to believe with is our senses, the tools we use to perceive the world: our sight, our touch, our memory. If they lie to us, then nothing can be trusted. And even if we do not believe, then still we cannot travel in any other way than the road our senses show us; and we must walk that road to the end.

You're walking on gallows ground, and there's a rope around your neck and a raven-bird on each shoulder waiting for your eyes, and the gallows tree has deep roots, for it stretches from heaven to hell, and our world is only the branch from which the rope is swinging.

To find out if a person is "good" or "bad", you do not look at the good they do, but at the bad they did. Me That sounds like basically reprimanding someone for whatever is in their past, rather than taking note of the good they are doing to try to make that better. People can't change what they've done in the past, surely striving to do good in the future means they've both learned, and attempted to atone for, their mistakes. That's like saying, "so, you cheated on someone - no matter how much you regret or attempt to compensate for the wrong you've done, for you can never redeem yourself, you'll always be a 'bad person'." I don't really understand how the quote is very wise, because it seems people are damned no matter how much good they do. And I thought that - in order to be wise - we had to make mistakes and learn from them. I suppose it fits your misanthropic view of humanity.

I suppose it fits your misanthropic view of humanity. That's correct. It fits only a very small group of individuals.
