The time limit on editing posts was put in place to keep people from:
A. Deleting a post or thread after they've made it in order to hide content from moderators or to remove the content out of spite for not getting a straight answer, and making another thread.
B. The editing time limit is in place to prevent the same thing.
A few months back we had a couple members who would post something to start a discussion, then delete their original post. Moderators had zero context and it was much harder to handle the situation if anything arose. We also have had people create a thread, delete it, and remake it to get more/different answers. It's abuse of the community.
