sorry I haven't been posting much, been busy..
lately its been raining, A LOT. I haven't been able to swim since I went camping at the beach a few days ago. and I've been having very strong urges to swim, feeling more and more tense every day. today, when there was a bit of sun I went for a swim in our creek. but It didn't feel right. and I felt horrible...
maybe its the freshwater? I'm still not sure what species of otter I am
also my phantom tail and ears hadn't shown for days and I've been having trouble concentrating..
I'm not sick, I'm in perfect physical health C:
so I went and researched otters in hope it might make me feel better and suddenly my phantom tail appeared, I was so happy!
now I'm worried about it happening again and I'm feeling a bit paranoid..
I don't know what can help with this, but hopefully you can understand the jumble of words I'm saying ^^;

Honestly, Azure, I don't think your specific otter species has any true baring on how you handle fresh or salt water. I know that it's always very tempting to link one's kintype to a habit or behavior but much of these things can be explained by simple human behavior being...well not so simple in addition to a coincidence. Maybe swimming on that particular day just wore you out, maybe you ate something bad, maybe you didn't sleep as restfully as you typically do. Everything is the cause of something else and there is nothing physical about otherkinity/therianthropy. I think that the best thing to do, as I always say, is meditate, balance your energies and don't be too worried about next time you go swimming. Hope this helps and best of luck!

@azure: A lot of therians find that their animal side goes through phases were it is more or less prominent. I've had times were I won't feel shifty for very long periods of time and then suddenly I'll have shifts or be on the edge of one every day for an equally long amount of time. Normally, it's pretty balanced though. Anyway, if you don't feel very "otterlike" for a little bit it's ok, a lot of things going on in your life can affect your therianthropy.

we all have days we feel like crap and don't even feel or realize our kin is there i have no clue why and it is still pretty vivid why it happen but what i think is that you are trying to shift but something takes you off that path in my experience it is called a barrier a barrier is a spot that you need to supass to acheive that just consintrate on the problem and see if it will work out some times it requires venting....
