To any job that I might take. I want the Vet assistant job... Any advice or helpful words? Look into buying a bus pass--it may not be the cleanest, but there are cheap monthly/yearly passes that you can use. As long as you're familiar with the bus's schedule--you're set for life. Or you can try carpooling with someone nearby. It's not that hard, there are some carpooling services in places. You should just offer to pitch in a little for gas. As for thinking you'll fail...don't worry about it. All you can do is try--and I'm sure you'll be fine. :3

Failing is the first step on the path to become a wiser person. We learn from mistakes, and adjust our minds accordingly to succeed in future experiences. My point, don't be scared of failing, or if they find you unfit for the job, you will automatically learn and gain experience. You will neither get a job, nor learn from this opportunity if you turn it down.
Regarding transport, I have no clue how it works over there nor am I familiar with the area you live in, so you just have to ask around. I find busses fine over here, I'm not buying any cars for the time being, I'm spending my money on other, more important things.

@seziel Depending on how far it is, you could ride a bike there. I do this for my college classes and general around town errands. Good luck! -Mateus

@seziel I think vet assistant was one best jobs I've had, and an awesome start to a career of vet tech if you choose. Word of advise thou, be prepard and try not to freak because you'll see/do awful things (expressing anal glands, watching animals put down (b/c the owner doesn't want to/can't pay for treatment(and then the tech/asst puts it into freezer), Its a great job but you have to be(or at least act) confidant, and have a strong stomach. Through the awesome clinic I worked for they treated me as an uncertified vet tech and let me to dental cleanings and tought me to draw blood, helped with x-rays.. so many cool things. But its also filing papers, making calls, poop scooping, etc, and each clinic is different. I was never bit but a few dogs/cats tried, and the doctors (half joking) told us if we were there to protect them from getting bit (by restrianing animals) so if one of us was getting bit it was us. Heh. I'm sure they told you most of what you'd be doing at the interview, some things I wasn't prepared for and flat out enraged me after I saw it done. (Declawing is mutilation and cruel, animal abuse in my book, expecially after seeing it done and the cats/pups in recovery...so much is wrong with declawing!!!!) As for the transportation, rides, bus pass, get a bike or walk, but make sure you always have a plan b. If you miss the bus, call then bike in...if your ride can't take you, you can take the bus, etc. They'll accept the excuse 'I couldn't get a ride' maybe twice then let you go. Too many people are looking for jobs, employers don't mess around with excuses. I'm sure you won't fail, just pay attention and ask questions of your coworkers if you're not sure about something. Good luck and have fun!! Side note I also loved walking/playing with some of the boarding dogs, one was a giant alaskan malimute..such a cool (huge) breed. Also since the clinic I work for was kinda small town in eastern Washington and I have other animal experience they gave me the opportunity to raise orphaned squirrel and raccoon kits until they were ready for proper wild homes. ..so yea, great job! @seziel We say go for it! It's a job, and you can learn and experience from it. I'm sure it will all work out in the end. -Alastor
