I've been shifting. The last two times I took a shower, I shifted briefly, and it scared the hell out of me.
The first time wasn't so bad. I was in the shower, walking forward, and I felt the water on my face, running down my body, and I think I forgot how a human is supposed to move. I tried to undulate rather than walk, and fell. End of story.
The second time was a little more scary. I think if it hadn't been in the shower, I might have drowned. I just lost track of myself, and wound up trying to breathe by swallowing water. Fortunately, there was as much air in there as water, so there wasn't too much damage done.
Kittahara and I were planning a trip to ponce de leon springs. What if I shift again, and forget to come up for air? Or worse, try to breathe the water?

What you wrote about your shifts makes me a bit nervous, i almost drowned once and will never go into deep water ever again. I guess with you it's like when water touches your skin, you forget about everything apart from your therian self. And given what you are and what you where, doesn't make for a very, safe combination. Be carefull.

If I were you, and i've never come across this before, i'd steer clear of deep water. It's imperitive that you don't try to test yourself while you feel this way, and avoid the temptation of your shifts until you have them understood, and in control.

I'd bring water-wings, scuba gear, and stay in shallow water... other than that I don't know what to say. Maybe you could try daily deep meditation?

Thanks, everyone. I will try daily meditations, and I think this trip may be considered canceled. ^=^ Maybe, in time, it'll be safe to swim, but for now it's not.
